So at Gen Con this year we had a big discussion about Sandwiches. It turns out there was a big article on America’s Favorite Sandwich, and it spawned what would be a week long discussion in our room after hours (over libations of course) in our room at Gen Con.
Which brings me to the next week long argument. The best way to make PBnJ.
Now for years I have always made it the usual way. Take 2 pieces of bread, some peanut butter on one piece , some jelly on the other and smash the two together. Doesn’t everyone? Well yeah… .
That is until one day my wife got sick and tired of my kids spilling jelly all over the floor of the kitchen from eating their sandwiches. SO she started doing the greatest method of making PBnJ in the known universe….. You take a bowl, add some PB to it and then add your Jelly. You take a spoon and mix the ever loving hell out of the two. SO much so that they both go into solution. You can stop at the part where you have little jelly bubbles in the pb that’s ok but KEEP GOING until it’s all one mixture. You will likely have a purple-ish brown mixture if you added enough jelly to it. THEN slather that mixture on some bread. It will be MUCH easier to mix and will taste great if you got the ratio’s correct.
I know it’s going to take more time (like 2 more mins we ALL have 2 more mins in our day– we’re not monsters!) , and it will require a little more cleaning but you’ll live– trust me. BUT ITS ALL WORTH IT… well IMHO at least.
Last but not least and prob the reason I brought it up here in the 1st place, a tadpooler by the name of Leaping Duck, has done an experiment and wrote up his findings. And it’s great read and I absolutely love this read (even if I am not 100% on board with the results it’s worth the read anyway!). Enjoy! On initial pleadings, looked like a stretch for Meyer to prove these things
Waid completely melted down in the pressure of a deposition, basically made Meyer’s case

1) The nominees for the 2019 SDJ solidify the fact that the@dicehateme awards are now far superior.
2) The mid-90’s German family can handle a game like Catan but the 2019 German family can’t? These nominees are a joke. They are the equivalent of snap-tight model kits.

What awards, other then your own, do you put real value in? I redirect the Oscars but feel they are just a bunch of blow hards patting themselves on the back instead of putting up the true best movies.
There are some comedies that deserved nods but never got a sniff in the past.
